So, no one knows who Charley Harper is...was...

A shame.

I had the good fortune to set quite a bit of type for Charlie over the years. Charlie was definetly a character and true artist. Salt of the earth. God bless Charley's family.

Ya got me with this one. I shed a small tear too. Mr. Harper was a class act and gave generously of his talent to the local community.

My wife and I were fortunate to visit with the Harpers at their home. Charley and Edie were both great people. I know Edie will be lost without Charley. God bless Charley Harper.

YOUR TRIBUTE TO CHARLEY WAS PERFECT. BOTH MY DAUGHTER & I FOUND OURSELVES IN TEARS WHEN WE SAW THE CARDINAL. HOW ABOUT HAVING YOUR CARTOON REPRODUCED ON SOME TYPE OF FRAMABLE MEDIA AND SELL IT WITH PROFITS GOING TO ONE OF CHARLEY'S CHARITIES? WE WOULD BE PROUD TO HAVE IT JOIN SOME OF THE OTHER "HARPERS" WE HAVE ON OUR WALLS.

Thank you for a lovely tribute for an exceptional individual.

Charley was the most caring, giving artist we've ever worked with at Bird Watcher's Digest. His "cool cardinal" was a signature, along with ladybugs of course. His humility, his sense of irony, his dry humor, his talent...what a package! I'm glad his work recently got the national recognition it deserved with the help of Todd Oldham, though Charley painted from the soul, not the pocketbook.

I just found your tribute to Charlie Harper.

It is spot on!

Thank you.
